Children’s Residential Support Worker

  • Salary: £29,071 to £29,482 per annum, depending on qualifications (including 5 sleep-ins per month paid at £64.95 per night).

  • Hours: Full-time (38 hours per week)

About the role:

As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide safe, consistent and child centred care supporting the emotional and physical wellbeing of the young people in our homes.

For some young people, the behaviours caused by the trauma they have experienced means they need additional support.  Break’s solo children’s homes offer these individuals the full attention they need to be able to thrive.

With patience, empathy and consistency, you’ll provide a positive role model, helping young people begin to heal from past trauma, rebuild their confidence and learn to trust adults again. Working closely with your colleagues and Break’s therapeutic services, you’ll help each young person feel valued, understood and supported, encouraging them to embrace new experiences, explore their interests and develop their own identity.

To succeed in this role, you’ll be adaptable and resilient, with the ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations. Above all, you’ll be passionate about helping young people overcome adversity, build positive relationships and work towards brighter futures.

You will need to successfully complete a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within the first 24 months of support work. This will be fully funded by Break and you will be supported by our training team.

Please note that you must have a full, UK driving licence for this position.

The basic annual salary range for this role is £25,174 - £25,585 per annum.  If your application is successful, your job offer will be based on these amounts.
